Hannah Bartley - Maid of Honor
Madeline and Hannah grew up two houses apart in Shelby Township and have been besties since Hannah knocked on the door with a giant cookie to welcome the Schmidts in 2005. From Michigan to South Carolina and now California, Hannah has always been a steady, joyful presence—traveling, celebrating, and supporting Madeline through every chapter. More than a friend, she’s family and Madeline’s Maid of Honor.
Keara Boyle - Matron of Honor
Madeline and Keara met at the Honors College at Oakland University in 2014 and have been inseparable ever since. They became ICU nurses together, supported each other through CRNA school, and now work side by side at the same hospital—always cheering each other on through every late shift and big milestone. Madeline is glad Keara can be by her side on her wedding day, just as Madeline was there on Keara's big day.
Brooke Achrem - Bridesmaid
Madeline and Brooke met at their favorite place—the barn, where years of shared rides and barn-side laughs turned them into lifelong friends. Brooke always teased that Madeline reminded her of her brother Ryan, and years later she arranged a blind meeting between them. That match changed everything, and Brooke has been part of Madeline’s story ever since.
Sophia Lucchi - Bridesmaid
Madeline and Sophia met working together at the iconic Bad Brad’s BBQ and quickly became inseparable. Bonded by horses, nursing school, and a love of fantasy books, Sophia has been a supportive friend through late-night ICU shifts, summer horse shows, and everything in between — she is a bridesmaid who feels more like family.
Lily Schmidt - Bridesmaid
Lily is Madeline’s cousin and childhood partner in crime—more like a sister than a cousin. Growing up just a mile from Madeline and Matthew, the families were inseparable, filling summers with sleepovers, backyard adventures, and holiday traditions. As adults they still make time for each other through big life moments and small, everyday check-ins.
Kayla O'Kray - Bridesmaid
Kayla and Madeline met at Bad Brad’s BBQ, where a chance friendship later led Kayla to meet Madeline’s brother, Matthew. Madeline loves how naturally Kayla became part of the family—kind, fun, and always up for an adventure. They now share yoga classes, train for triathlons, and swap favorite books in their book club.
Noah Achrem - Best Man
Noah is Ryan’s younger brother. As kids they tested their limits on skateboards, and today they catch up over disc golf, cooking dinners, and mountain biking. Noah is proud to stand by Ryan as his Best Man.
Austin Klozik - Groomsman
Austin and Ryan met in middle school on the baseball field and have been close ever since. These days they spend their time biking together, hunting down new restaurants, and battling it out over video games—always cheering each other on through every season of life. Austin is proud to stand with Ryan as a groomsman.
Paul Ziemba - Groomsman
Paul and Ryan met in high school — they started out as rivals after Paul wouldn’t invite Ryan to his parties, but over time they put that behind them and became fast friends. They were college roommates who built countless memories together, and today they bond over biking, gaming, and long D&D campaigns.
Peter Huyberts - Groomsman
Peter and Ryan met in elementary school and teamed up for a memorable fifth-grade science fair project; that early friendship grew into a lifelong bond. Today they share a love of snowboarding trips and gaming, always ready for the next adventure together
Devin Parker - Groomsman
Devin and Ryan met while attending graduate school in Minnesota—Devin had moved from Alaska and Ryan from Michigan. They quickly bonded over a shared love of music, and though Ryan returned to Michigan after school while Devin stayed in Minnesota, their friendship stayed strong. Ryan makes an annual trip to Minnesota to catch concerts and go biking with Devin, keeping their tradition of music and adventure alive.
Matthew Schmidt - Groomsman
Matthew is Madeline’s younger brother and lifelong partner in crime. From backyard adventures to epic Mario Kart showdowns where the video game character pick was always contested, they grew up as close friends and occasional rivals. Now adults, they’re still each other’s biggest supporters—Matthew couldn’t be more proud to stand with Madeline on the big day and to welcome Ryan as his new brother.
